Our Fleet of Helicopters
Astrum Helicopters has operated helicopter services in Belize since 2006.
The company operates three turbine powered rotary wing Bell Helicopters 206/407. Our highly experienced pilots, with several thousand hours of flight time, along with our management team have more than 70 combined years of experience in the aviation industry.
We offer helicopter adventures and transfers that are tailored to meet your specific needs. We also provide specialized services such as search and rescue, aerial surveys & filming/photography. In an emergency, we provide Medevac services.
BELL JET RANGER B3
The Bell 206 B3 Jet Ranger is a two-blade helicopter with a capacity of 4 passengers, plus your pilot. It has an average cruise speed of 100 mph, a range of 300 miles and an endurance of 3 hours.
BELL 407
The Bell 407 is a four-blade helicopter with a capacity of 6 passengers, plus your pilot. It has an average cruise speed of +150 mph, range of +370 miles and an endurance of 2.5-3.0 hours.

Gustavo Giron - Founder/CEO
Gustavo Giron Jr. and his late father GG Sr. started Astrum Helicopters in 2006 with a vision of building the first helicopter company in Belize that offers a broad range of services to the country. From the outset, they knew that meant Astrum Helicopters would need to be a reliable, flexible organization that could adapt easily to ever-changing client needs.
Gustavo is a 3rd-generation pilot and understands the need to uphold the very best personnel and equipment. He continues to follow his company’s vision and standards of excellence by maintaining the highest level of safety and employing talented, committed staff.
Chief Pilot Jon Bourke & our USA FAA certified pilots
With experience as military and commercial pilots, Astrum Helicopters’ flight team are also certified flight instructors (CFI) which means they know everything there is to know about flying helicopters. Our chief pilot, Jon Bourke, has flown throughout Europe, the Caribbean, and North, Central, and South America. He has extensive experience in aerial firefighting and search-and-rescue work. In addition to owning his own helicopter company, he has served as Chief Pilot (Parts 135/133/137), Company Instructor, and Check Airman for three other helicopter companies, including Helicopter Express out of Atlanta, Georgia.
Under the leadership of Gustavo and Jon, our pilots go out of their way to make sure your ride is safe, smooth and comfortable whether you’re transfering between resorts or circling the Blue Hole so you can take that perfect picture.
Maintenance Crew and Admin Team
Lead by Director of Maintenance, Marco Vinicio, our crew has primary responsibility for the coordination of daily maintenance requirements, as well as complete refurbishment projects; with major structural, engine and component overhauls contracted to suitably qualified third party facilities.
Vini’s diligence and attention to detail ensure that our clients can depend on Astrum Helicopters to meet all of their needs safely, efficiently and to the highest industry standards.

Amazing Trip
We had a great time with Gustavo and Astrum Helicopters! We flew from their heliport next to Grand Caribe on Ambergris Caye over the reef and then out to the waterfalls in western Belize. We then landed at the Belize Zoo for the add on tour that can be arranged through Astrum. We then flew back to the heliport at Grand Caribe.
The trip was amazing. We felt very safe the entire trip; you could easily tell that Astrum is a well-run operation.
